Being a voice for these innocent and affectionate pups is something that I have been passionate about ever since I started learning about the horrible deaths of so many pitbulls that were euthanized simply based on their name, "Pitbull". Judging a dog based on their breed is the same thing as judging a person based on the color of their skin- it makes no sense, right?
Educating yourself can maybe inspire you like it has for me. In the early 1900s pitbulls were actually used as children's babysitters while the parents had to leave the house for some time because they were known as being gentle and loyal. In society today, they are mainly known as being used for dog fighting. The goal of these horrible humans that breed these dogs just for the sake of dogfighting, is to train the dogs to be aggressive. This all can lead to serious traumatic experiences for the dogs. Any dog is capable of being aggressive, just like any human has that same capability. Train and socialize your dog to be friendly, and they will be.
Anytime I have come in contact with one of these "ferocious" dogs, I have been greeted with nothing but licks and tail wags. These dogs are gentle, affectionate, big-hearted, dogs with so much love to offer. Help me raise money for a rescue group that continues to save the lives of these deserving dogs every single day.
