There aren't enough good things that can be said about Random Acts. From the small acts to the big, this 501(c)(3) organization is working hard to make a real difference in the world, particularly in these challenging times. Now more than ever there is a need for acts of kindness - to put a smile on someone's face, a meal on their table, a roof over their head, clothes on their back, a classroom to study in... the list and the needs are endless.
One of the key means by which Random Acts can fund these acts is through the annual Endure for Kindness - E4K - event. Participants pick an activity/challenge - running 5kms, knitting beanies or scarves, baking, singing, hiking or reciting poetry - and ask supporters to donate as they complete their chosen endeavor over the weekend.
This weekend - 26/27 October - is E4K 2019, and I thought (at the 11th hour!) I'd try to contribute. Alas, with a knee op coming up running was out for me, and while I can knit, I'm not that good at it. And you really don't want to hear me sing, trust me. :-) So I thought I'd stay behind my computer for E4K and edit photos.
Those who've followed my photo account on Twitter and Instagram know I offer unsigned and signed photos to raise monies for RA already, to benefit the Jacmel Children's Center in Haiti. However, for E4K I'll make it a little simpler: For each $10 donation, I'll edit a "new" photo and post it online - new being defined as a photo I've taken over the last few years at (predominantly) Supernatural conventions or GISH events, but have never released online before.
In the donation comments - or via DM on Twitter (@monicadphoto) - let me know your top 3 requests (Jensen, Misha, Jared et al) and I'll endeavor to fulfill the request. If I don't have photos of your preferred "option", I'll ping you for an alternative.
Note: I'll do my very best to make sure every photo is "new" - if there's doubt, just ping me and I'll look for something else for you!
(And just to re-emphasise: ths photos will only be posted online - hard-copy/printed photos are not part of this campaign.)
Don't forget, for those in the U.S. all donations are tax deductible.
This is a first time trying this so... let's give it a go for a good cause. :-)
Thank you in anticipation.
P.S. I'll start the goal fairly small, and see where it goes, if it does...
