At the Marin Organizing Committee we started out 2017 proclaiming, "Yes! In my backyard," and moved into critical support of our immigrant communities. We focused on the plight of our leaders living with no legal protections in a precarious and overcrowded rental market and were challenged by the losses faced by friends and family in the north bay fires. We announced the end of the rotating REST shelter program and moved forward on our proposal for a Housing Ready Shelter. As we approach the end of the year, let's take a moment to be grateful for the relationships we have forged in this important work. Through MOC we have the opportunity to act together on the issues that impact our lives, and know that we are never alone. Organizing with MOC allows us not only to have a voice in our local communities, but to pull those voices together and stand up for the changes we believe are needed.
Please join me in investing in that work, and make a year-end contribution to the Marin Organizing Committee. When you support MOC, you are investing in the involvement of regular citizens in the ongoing public discourse about the needs of our community, promoting leadership development in our civic organizations, congregations and schools.
