Julio and I are traveling to Guatemala in June with a team of 20 from Charlotte/Atlanta. We got to go with them last year also (well, we met up with Julio in Guatemala!) This time he will get to fly from the US together to spend a week doing missions in his home!
If you’d like to partner with us financially you can do so here! Half of what we raise is towards transportation/food/stay and the other half will be used towards providing water filters, shoes, clothes, food, stoves, installing bunk-beds, and building materials as well as materials for some Pastors of churches who are discipling people in their community! So the more each team member is able to raise the more people‘s Lives God is able to touch through us!
While we are working with the team we are wanting to be guided by the Holy Spirit to meet these needs but also be open for any new opportunities or needs that arise while we are there. We want to be a blessing to all those we encounter and share to their need wother Gods supply.
Our goal is to be a blessing to those we come into contact with. We pray that those who do not know the Lord would see Him in everything we do or say. We may not be able to provide long term change for people with these items that we give, but we hope to provide a breather for them for at least a short time...and introduce them to the one who can provide long term change in their life, Jesus. If us being His hands and feet leads to someone knowing Him, then that is what matters most!
My prayer is that each of us receive & listen to what God wants to teach each of us while we are there from those who do know Him, that WE would be impacted by their joy & simplicity of life. We tend to go thinking we are the ones bringing “gifts” when in actuality God may want to use the wonderful people of Guatemala to change our perspectives. To get a deeper look at who God is, not just in our own lives, but in those who have nothing... yet can be some of the most joyful people you will ever meet.
We are really excited to be able to go back and see the friendly faces we already know!
And to see what God will do this time!
If you would like to be a part of what we are doing, you can donate to this journey. You may not be able to come with us in person, but your donation will go far there and you will be planting a seed, and that’s almost as good as going in person!
It is tax deductible for you.
Julio and I will be flying to Guatemala for one week before the team to visit with his friends and do our own thing- this is not included in what we need to raise, obviously, but wanted to make that clear.
