I hope this finds you and your families doing well. These past months have been a roller coaster of both information and emotions. The cancellation across the board of all the season's eagerly anticipated events has been so disappointing, both personally and to our organization.
MiRPA, along with so many others, shut down its spring events. Coffee & Cars was able to resume in June and continued thru October. However, caution and good sense have forced us to suspend our monthly gathering until spring when we are able to be outside once again. Meadowdale, Motorsports & Memories Car Show in September was granted the go ahead after drafting a comprehensive safety plan. Rain, however, had another plan and kept almost everyone home, much to our discouragement.
With good attendance, the car show typically pays for itself. This did not happen in 2020. Coupled with this loss is the near certainty that the Winter Banquet will have to be cancelled as well. As one might expect, the rain out and banquet cancellation has put MiRPA in a difficult financial position.
MiRPA is an all volunteer organization. We are working hard planning for when things open up. In the interim, we are working to bring you videos from some of our past events to help us all get through the long winter ahead. We realize that MiRPA is not saving the world, but we sure are trying to make it a little more interesting by sharing the important history of Meadowdale and Motorsports in the Midwest.
We know that we are all struggling in one way or another. But, we also know you believe in our organization. If you are in a position to make a charitable gift at this time, your donation would allow MiRPA to continue our commitment to the Motorsports community.
