Founded in 2011, Minds Matter Philadelphia connects driven and determined students from low- income families with the people, preparation, and possibilities to succeed in college, create their future, and change the world.
Minds Matter is a four-year mentoring program that begins during students’ freshman year of high school, and offers its students a combination of individualized mentor support and group tutoring that provides students with the resources, information, and guidance they need to gain admission to, enroll in, and graduate from four-year colleges.
Since inception, our program has served ~150 students, and 100% of students that have completed our program have been accepted to a 4-year college!
Over the duration of our 4-year program, each one of our students receives over 185 hours of in-person tutoring in math, writing, critical thinking, and ACT prep and each student also receives over 150 additional hours of in-class support provided by their two dedicated mentors.
We’re a 100% volunteer organization with nearly 100 total volunteers, so every dollar donated goes directly to our students!
