This summer I'm taking my running to a new level - Ragnar. It's a word I've heard in my running circles a few times and always thought, "That's a bit extreme!", but if you know me, you know how I love a challenge. This means I'm paying to run 3 different legs of a race all in 24 hours with an amazing team of 12 Mile in My Shoes run mentors. On August 16, we will run from the Twin Cities, on hot pavement in sticky weather, over the hills, and through the darkness (and wilderness) to the amazing city of Duluth. Why are we doing this?? To support Mile in My Shoes! I hope you can donate a to help me on this new running journey and support the work of Mile in My Shoes. To learn more about MIMS, please read below.
Mile in My Shoes (MiMS) is: Running Together to Change Perceptions and Change Lives. MiMS introduces distance running to residents of Twin Cities homeless and transitional shelters through teams that include both shelter residents and runners from the local community. Through running with one another, Twin Cities residents from vastly different backgrounds not only find common ground, but they begin to learn from and depend on one another for support as they strive to reach goals - both running-related and beyond. As they transform one another, they transform themselves. Visit mileinmyshoes.mn to learn more!
Through the summer of 2019, eighteen Run Mentors will tackle Minnesota Ragnar, a relay race spanning a course connecting Saint Paul up all the way to Duluth! Along the way, we'll be championing the mimspiration we see in our communities each day and raising money to support this great organization. Every bit goes a long way to provide running gear, nutritional support, and race entries for our Resident Members at each of our four teams each season.
Thank you, thank you for anything you can do. Woo!
