The Lower Eastside Girls Club is a community based organization that supports young women on their journey to healthy and successful futures. Most of the Girl's Club members low-income Black and brown girls from New York City. Their space on Avenue D is a safe haven for these girls to learn about the arts, gardening, civic engagement, media and entertainment, and more.
As a member of the Girl's Club Angel Alliance, I see how this organization help's girls gain access to opportunities I could have only dreamed of.
I'm asking you to help ensure that the Girl's Club has the funds they need to continue to provide for their members.
Funds raised through this page will support program offerings created to help the girls and their families during the pandemic. This includes:
1) "Weekend Wellness" kits with produce from local organic farms, and distributing food and takeout meals for families of 4 and up.
2) Short-term cash infusions for non-food necessities
3) Books, art supplies, computers and sewing machines for continued creative exploration.
My goal is to raise $1500. Any funds raised beyond that goal will still be donated to the Girl's Club to support their future program offerings. I appreciate your support! 🧡
