As many of you know, my cousin and his wife lost their 6 year old son, Tommy, to brain cancer last year. Since then they have founded The Tommy Strong Foundation to raise money for pediatric cancer.
With the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, all of the children currently hospitalized are not allowed many, if any, visitors. Andrew and Christine, Tommy’s parents, have donated 10 iPads to kids that are currently in the hospital so they can stay in touch with their family and friends.
Bobby and I are very fortunate to have two healthy girls who love to ride their bikes. They have been doing so a lot these past few weeks as it enables them to get out of the house and exercise while social distancing themselves from others. Bike riding is their outlet, their stress reliever. One of our neighbors suggested that they log their miles as a fundraiser for a charity. The Tommy Strong Foundation was the first Foundation that came to mind, it is near and dear to our hearts. We would like to help Andrew and Christine raise money so they can purchase more iPads for those kids who are currently not able to see their family and friends.
I know it is a hard time for us all, but every penny counts. Please consider donating any amount that you can. Hannah and Caity have ridden at least 40 miles since the quarantine began and they plan to ride a lot more, especially now that they are riding for a cause they they hold deep in their hearts. They are #TommyStrong 💙💪🏻
