In the U.S. alone, 1 in 700 children is born with an oro-facial cleft and 1 in 1,600 is born with facial asymmetry, a missing ear, a jaw deformity, or a defect of the skull, nerves or facial bones. Our daughter, Olivia, was born on January 28th, 2019 with a cleft lip. Cleft lip, with or without cleft palate, is the second most common birth defect in the United States. Through Olivia's care, we learned about the myFace organization and the positive impact that they have had on children who have craniofacial differences. Our goal is to raise money to contribute to orthodontic treatment for children with cleft lip and/or palate, just like Olivia, through participation in the NYC Marathon and running all 26.2 #milesforsmiles on November 3rd, 2019. We want to raise $100 per mile of the marathon, and, we will match all donations up to the original goal amount ($2,620)! With your support, we can help children with craniofacial differences receive exceptional care that will produce superior outcomes and impact them for years to come!
