COVID-19 has brought the world to a stand-still for alot of us. Many of us--including myself--have been working from home, spending time with family, and generally trying to weather this storm in isolation. That said, our medical community does not have this luxury. They have been on the frontlines of this pandemic, risking their lives to fight this disease and save lives--often with inadequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Americares has made strides to fix this problem by providing PPE for health workers on the front lines, protecting our most at-risk heroes. In the U.S. alone, Americares has delivered 60 tons of protective supplies to health facilities in 40 states and three territories. This includes more than 2.1 million masks, 121,000 gloves, 40,000 gowns and other supplies.
In support of Americares' efforts and in light of the current social distancing rules, I will be riding my stationary bike for 100 miles this coming Sunday in hopes of raising money for this fantastic cause. For context, that's longer than the first leg of the Tour de France and just shy of a trip from NYC to the Hamptons (shout-out to all that have taken the Cannonball). My goal is to complete the trip in less than 8 hours, and will be posting updates as I go. I hope you're able to support Americares through this platform! In the meantime, you'll be able to see me suffer for 8 hours!
Wish me luck,
