Ok, not JUST Maisha - but all the orphans!
I found The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in November 2017, through someone I follow on Twitter. I read about their wonderful work with the orphaned elephants, and knew it was the perfect Christmas gift for a friend. So, after reading a bunch of stories and watching rescue videos, I picked out the perfect baby, Emoli.
In early 2018, at another run, I came upon a booth for the Enormous Elephant Run, and quickly realized it was the same place! A friend and I signed up immediately. Shortly after I decided to foster an elephant myself, and selected Emoli's friend and next door neighbor, Maisha.
At the time I was also planning a trip to Africa, but hadn't worked out all the details. To make a long story short, we ended up changing our plans to add in a day in Nairobi to go visit our elephants. It was an amazing experience, and we got to see in person, all of the wonderful things they do for the elephants and other animals of Kenya.
A number of friends are doing the race this year; several are even flying in from other states. So, I created this page to help raise some money for this wonderful organization. No amount is too small.
You can also join us to run! Thank you in advance for your support.
