The need for blood is constant. In Vermont, the Red Cross relies on our Bloodmobile to collect nearly 10 percent of our blood donations throughout the state. Every single hospital in Vermont depends on the Red Cross to supply blood and blood products for patients in need. As such, the Bloodmobile is on the road every day playing a vital role in collection operations.
Our current Bloodmobile is aging - at over 18 years old, traveling more than 16,000 miles per year, to 250 drives, the time has come to replace it. The Bloodmobile suffers from many mechanical issues, worn interior and exterior, and often breaks down then forcing blood drives to be cancelled.
To solve this challenge, we have committed to raising funds for a new Bloodmobile, which costs the organization $275,000 to purchase and put into production. This new vehicle will ensure we can collect and safely transport blood from generous donors. Join us today in helping to make a new Bloodmobile a reality. Together we can make sure needed blood is on the hospital shelves, which helps save lives right here in Vermont!
