If you know me, or you know my family, you are already aware that cancer has joined our family time after time over the last couple of decades. My grandfathers both suffered from cancer, my dad battled for more than 10 years before passing from Multiple Myeloma several years ago, and now my aunt has been diagnosed with Stage 1 Breast Cancer. I began this fundraiser in hopes of supporting those in need while also helping to support the research needed to find a cure for these devestating diseases. Although I know it probably won't happen in my lifetime, but I hope one day everyone will be able to live a life without concern that cancer will bare its evil head. During the week of October 11 - 18, 2020, I will be running the Army 10-Miler Virtual Race as part of the US Military Endurance Sports Team. As someone who has had a passion for running since the 8th grade, I find myself wanting to run with an overall purpose that will help others far beyond what logging 10 miles in an afternoon will do. Therefore, this year I have created this fundraiser to raise money for the American Cancer Society, to help promote research and treatment opportunities with hopes that a cure is not far off. Please consider donating in this time of need and help me help others in their battle against this ugly disease.
