I am proud to join Team Awesome in the 24 Miles for Esther Challenge! Throughout this month (July 1 to August 3), I am running/walking/moving 24 miles in memory of Esther Earl, who would have been 24 years old this year (on August 3rd).
Team Awesome is the athletic team that supports the non-profit foundation This Star Won't Go Out, which supports families with children who have cancer. The organization was founded by Lori and Wayne Earl in honor of their daughter Esther, who died of thyroid cancer at the age of 16. They have already awarded more than $450,000 in grants to families.
I am honored to have been a part of Team Awesome for the last three years, during which I (alongside my friends in Team Awesome California) completed a Spartan Beast race in 2015 and the San Francisco Marathon in 2016.
Since getting my first Fitbit for Christmas last year, I have hit my daily 5 mile goal nearly every day. For my #24Miles4Esther, I am counting all the miles I move on top of my usual 5 mile per day Fitbit goal (so walking 6 miles in one day will mean 1 mile towards my 24 miles for Esther).
Please join me in supporting This Star Won't Go Out, by donating on this page and/or sharing widely! If you want to join Team Awesome and participate in the 24 Miles for Esther Challenge, go to: http://teamawesometswgo.org

Thank you, and don't forget to be awesome!
