In 2018, I heard from a friend about a small group of guys that had been doing long distance paddles as a way of raising money for a great cause, Christopher's Haven (www.christopherhaven.org). It sounded like a blast, but what I found was there was a much deeper connection to both the ocean and community.
Christopher's Haven is a small little non-profit that helps families of pediatric cancer patients by providing support and housing while their little ones fight for their lives.
The crew at Cape Cod Bay Challenge picked them up as their cause about 9 years ago. It was remarkable to see the gratitude of the team from Christopher's Haven for what the CCBC means to them. You see, Christopher's Haven isn't a mega organization with deep pockets. They're just a little group that's trying to make a big difference.
