As many of you know, Matt was born with aortic stenosis and mitral valve regurgitation. He underwent his first cardiac cath at 13 days old and another one at 7 months old. We were told he will most likely need open heart surgery at some point. We are hoping that this day doesn't come, but if it does, we know Matt will come out of it stronger. He is truly one of the strongest, bravest, silliest, and most kind kiddos we know. He is our hero! We are once again walking to support the Conquering CHD - Illinois Association. Our goal is to raise $500 to help raise awareness of congenital heart defects and to help support this amazing aasociation that does so much for the heart community. It is our hope that one day, there will be a cure for heart defects. Details for the walk are below. Thank you for your support and consideration!
Walk to the Beat of My Heart
Join us as we walk virtually for the 9th Annual Conquering CHD - Illinois Walk on Sunday, May 16th!
Nearly 40,000 infants in the U.S. are born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) every year. CHD is the most common birth defect and the leading cause of infant death due to birth defects. Conquering CHD-Illinois is a non-profit with a mission to conquer CHD. We are Conquering CHD through education, support, research and advocacy. But we are unique in our approach – encompassing the lifespan, encouraging transparency, and meeting families where they are.
Registration is $15 and FREE for children under 16
