Michel and I are praising God as we are preparing to embark on our journey to Michel’s birthplace of Casablanca to participate in Young Life Surf Camp this summer! This is our second year supporting the mission of YL North Africa/Middle East, and now we have been blessed with the opportunity to see for ourselves what the Lord has been accomplishing and are looking forward to sharing it with you.
At Young Life camp, and at weekly clubs all over the world, teenagers are greeted with joy and served with love. For a short time, they get to be kids, have fun, laugh, and play games with fellow neighborhood teens. Their leaders, filled with worship and joy, introduce them to our magnificent God who loves them. They are taught that their lives have great worth, meaning, and purpose. This summer in Morocco, at Surf Camp 2019, leaders will walk alongside young people while sharing God's amazing story.
So, imagine you’re at summer camp in the States. Do you think cabins, mess halls, swimming pools, fields, amphitheaters, trails, go carts, climbing walls? In many countries around the world, Young Life summer camps are pop-up camps. In Morocco, it will be the responsibility of the Area Director to arrange for transportation, lodging and food. All supplies (surfboards, wetsuits, games, etc.) must be brought in. Very few of these students can afford to pay to attend camp. We don't want any of these teens to miss out because they can't afford it.
