The Michigan Community Scholars Program is nationally recognized for its intentional and successful efforts to build an engaged, compassionate, diverse community that emphasizes academic excellence, close faculty-student interaction, community service, and intergroup dialogue. In today’s divided society, these values are more important than ever. MCSP students are empowered to take on leadership roles in MCSP and throughout the University of Michigan to make a difference in the world.
Each year we offer small Grants for MCSP Students for Innovative Social Justice Initiatives and Programs. With your help in this 20th anniversary celebration year, we would like to substantially increase the number of grants and the amount of funds we can offer students. In past years, our students have initiated projects such as the following that have had an important impact on campus and in the community: Flint Justice Project, HackBlue, WolveReaders, Smile Bringer Singers, SWAP – Scarves With a Purpose, Brightmoor Youth Garden, International Peace Players Fundraiser, Freedom House Partnership, Breakdancing Fundraiser to Feed the Hungry, etc.
Your contribution today will help support and empower our current students to be the leaders and best in creating a more just, diverse, democratic campus community and society.
Please note that gifts on this site will be processed and receipted securely through the PayPal Giving Fund. If you'd rather give through the University of Michigan online giving site you can do that here.
