Thank you for visiting my donation page for the 2020 Cape Cod Bay Challenge (CCBC).
Based on the issues with COVID-19 that the world faces today, in 2020 the CCBC is taking on a new format…..it will be a virtual paddle. During the week of August 1 – August 8, paddlers across the country will complete a paddle of at least 15 miles in one day. All paddlers will post their routes, pictures and stories on a designated social media page and all paddlers will raise money from family & friends to help support a wonderful non-profit organization in Boston called Christopher’s Haven (). Christopher’s Haven provides housing to children (and their families) who come to Boston for pediatric cancer treatment.
Christopher's Haven is not a “local” charity to Boston. Children and families from all over the world come to Boston for its world class medical facilities and innovative pediatric cancer treatments. Christopher’s Haven not only provides housing for families who have a child going through cancer treatment but it is a support system to help with things large and small, and a community where families can be together, share a laugh, be comforted, and comfort others. Christopher’s Haven allows kids and families to focus their energies on the challenge of beating cancer. It is an amazing place. In addition to being a participant in the event, I am also on the Board of the CCBC and help with the planning of the event each year. I am really excited out the virtual format because we will have paddlers in different states across the United States raising awareness for Christopher’s Haven during the week of August 1. While the current pandemic has changed the way we live and operate our lives (for now) and put a lot of our daily routines on pause, cancer has not taken a break during this time and the children who are affected by cancer and come to Boston for treatment need Christopher’s Haven and our support now more than ever.
Please consider making a donation on my behalf. Any and all donations amounts are much appreciated.
