SInce the first Michele's Run in 1997, I've been returning every year to remember Michele, Hope, Dan and other friends and families who suffer with brain cancer. I personally know survivors of brain tumors thanks to the good work done by the Cancer League of Colorado and the fine research hospitals and universities in Colorado. Clinical trials can and do yield amazing results.
Every year about 1000 runners and walkers arrive at Washington Park in Denver for the Race for Research. The "Miracle Mile" - posters and commemorations of loved ones along the course - always motivates me to push ahead. The goal of the 22nd annual Race for Research is $100,000. I pledged to raise $500 of this and I'm asking you for help this year. Last year, we raised $1250!
I'm 66 this year. It'll be the 22nd year I've gratefully chugged through Michele's Run. If you'd like to run with me on Team Hopie, please sign up for the race and join us Sunday August 19th, 9am at Wash Park in Denver. If you can't make it to Denver, please support my fundraiser and I'll run on your behalf.
Thanks for chipping in!
