I'm so excited to be running again with Team Muscle Makers at the Princess Half Marathon in February 2021!
TMM was founded to raise funds and awareness for Ullrich Congenital Muscular Dystrophy. Your tax-deductible donation directly helps the Muscle Disease Clinic at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego, where Parker (shown in this photo from 2016) and so many other kids with debilitating muscle diseases are treated. Sadly, Parker's disease has progressed to the point that he can no longer participate in races as a runner himself.
I'm no stranger to physical limitations. After I was diagnosed with cancer in 2010, I had a life-saving, yet invasive surgery leaving me with diminished physical capabilities. I began walking to help heal my body...then running. I later partnered with Team Muscle Makers completing several races at Disneyland, running for kids who can't. The Disneyland races have been on hiatus since 2017, but I will now join TMM at Walt Disney World in February. (NONE of your donation goes to fund my trip - it all goes to Rady Children's Hospital.)
I started running to give myself a goal for recovery. Now I run for those who can't...for kids who have this progressive and life-threatening disease. Thank you for your generosity in partnering with me!
