Hi, My name is Michael Pavone and I have been a firefighter for about 31 years now. I am currently working for North Central fire will pursuing my hobby which is all about Bikes! I am a bike enthusiast and have been riding most of my life so I decided to open my own bike shop in 2002!
I like to bike outdoors and partake in races. This year for the 1st time ever, I am taking on the challenge of 'Tour de Los Padres 2020'. This race starts April 3rd and is a 275 miles race in the mountains without support, my goal is to finish in 3-4 days, or less!
I am creating this fundraiser to make my race even more meaningful. I would like to race funds to benefit the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation's (AARBF) annual Champ Camp. Champ Camp is a week long summer camp for burn survivors ages 5-17. Champ camp is completely free of cost to the child and the family. This is a life changing experience for them and I would like to support these kids in being able to interact with other burn survivors just like them. It is important for them to be children, enjoy themselves and emerge in a positive environment.
It takes about $750-$1000 to send 1 kid to camp; therefore my goal is to raise $2000 to send at least 2 burn survivors to attend Champ Camp for 2020!
Once the start of the race nears I will have a 'Spot Tracker' so you can follow my journey in this race!
