Hi! My name is Katie Covell and I am running the Falmouth Road Race this year for Michael's Miracle Falmouth Team. I ran the Falmouth Road Race last year for myself, and this year I really wanted to make a difference. I work at the Milford Youth Center in Milford, MA and we run a free afterschool program for Milford residents and kids who attend Milford Schools. Our program is funded primarily by donations, grants, fundraisers and rental revenue. When I started 3 years ago as the assistant director, one of my main tasks is to coordinate rental groups. The Michael Lisnow Respite Center is one group that rents facility. From about November through May each year, there is a group from the respite center that comes in to play in the gym and the game room at the Youth Center two days per week. Seeing the staff and members having fun and laughing really has made an impact on my life. This year when I was thinking about running the Falmouth Road Race again I looked up the Charitable organizations that had teams and I saw the respite center on the list. Running for this team is the least I can do to help give back to such a great charity that I have been lucky enough to be a part of. Please consider donating to Michael's Miracle Falmouth Team! No donation is too small. Thank you for your support!
The Michael's Miracle Falmouth Team is an official New Balance Falmouth Road Race team to benefit The Michael Lisnow Respite Center.
The Respite Center, located in Hopkinton, Massachusetts is a charity that provides services for children and adults with disabilities. We have several programs which include our Adult Day Program, Weekend Respite, After School Care, Day Care (birth - 3yrs), Employment Support for Individuals with Disabilities and Residential Placements.
2019 marks our 3rd Falmouth Road Race season!
Our goal is to continue to increase respite and support services for families trying to survive the challenges of raising a child with disabilities.
Last year the Respite Center raised just over $20,000 with a team of 10 runners.
100% of these funds went directly into our Michael Lisnow Scholarship Fund.
We look forward to another successful Falmouth Road Race season!
