On January 7, 2018 I lost my friend and neighbor of over 20 years, Michael Drach.
Michael began his struggle 6 years ago and like most who battle addiction, he had many relapses. He celebrated 16 months "clean" on Dec 27, 2017. He had begun for the first time in years, making plans for his future. And then, in the blink of an eye, he was gone. This is a pain I don't wish on anyone! And yet, far too many are experiencing it.
Michael loved and was loved by SO many people. His favorite place to be was the beach, he loved the warmth of the sun, the sand and the sound of the ocean. This is where he would go when he was looking for "peace".
Addiction is a family disease. One person uses, but all who loved this person suffers. Addiction takes the soul of the addict and breaks the heart of everyone who loved them.
Please consider donating to atTAcK addiction in Michael's name. Please help stop the stigma that goes along with drug addiction, because addiction has no boundaries. We are all ONE team, fighting this horrible disease.
