Low-income LSA students can’t always afford a reliable laptop, but the reality is they can’t afford to go without one.
Laptops are an essential tool for students to thrive in college and are needed for almost every academic activity, including writing papers, creating presentations, conducting research, accessing online materials, and working collaboratively with others. For low-income LSA students, not having a reliable laptop to use in class is a major obstacle to academic success.
To address the digital divide among undergraduates, LSA started the Laptop Program. Low-income students are offered a free MacBook Air, with essential software, to use throughout their undergraduate years.
Almost one-third of the incoming class is eligible for the program, yet we don't have enough laptops to fulfill the need. We are turning to our generous alumni and friends to help close the gap with a special two-week campaign.
Make a gift today and help us bridge the digital divide! From now until May 20, all donations to the LSA Laptop Program will be matched 1:1.
Matching dollars are available thanks to a generous anonymous donation.
