Help us continue to serve our Veterans.
Metroplex Veterans Legal Services provides pop-up legal clinics throughout the State of Texas, serving Veterans residing in all 254 Texas Counties. Our legal clinics focus on removing the legal barriers to employment for Veterans and assisting disabled Veterans to obtain military and disability benefits.
Prior to COVID-19 Veterans were at a higher risk of unemployment, homelessness, and suicide. Prior to COVID-19, about 1.4 million Veterans were considered at risk of homelessness. COVID-19, the shut-down, and the resulting job losses will make this situation increasingly dire for Veterans without legal aid. Another concern is justice involved Veterans that still have outstanding criminal records that are eligible for expunction and/or an order of non-disclosure. These Veterans that have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 economic shut-down will have greater difficulty in obtaining future employment and/or housing due to the record of their criminal arrest.
Prior to COVID-19 our program provided a permanent solution to Veterans who were previously unemployed and/or homeless as they were able to obtain employment and permanent housing after receiving pro bono legal assistance.
The final result was eliminating the need for financial assistance and providing self-sufficiency for the Veteran and their families.
We have this skills and knowledge to assist these at risk for homelessness Veterans due to COVID-19, but we need your assistance to continue offering these services . You can help change a life today with your donation.
