Merrick’s Walk for EDIN is an annual event that began to honor Merrick Ryan, who passed away in 2000 from complications of anorexia. She was 19 years old. Merrick was an alumna of Galloway School and was a freshman at Bates College in Maine when she passed away. She was a true treasure to those who knew and loved her. EDIN partners with Galloway School to host a walk every year in her memory.
Merrick's Walk for EDIN has a threefold purpose:
To raise awareness of eating disorders.
To remember those who have lost their battle with an eating disorder.
To raise funds for the Eating Disorders Information Network (EDIN) and its prevention programs in schools and the community of Atlanta.
