Mercy Street works in historically under-resourced communities where residents face specific obstacles and challenges through no fault of their own.
Mercy Street uses sports as outreach to the West Dallas community. Our goal is to provide our kids with positive, influential role models through our coaches and a healthy, safe environment to compete in individual and team sports. Through our various programs, we weave biblical values through our coaching in an effort to build character as well as athletic ability.
Mentoring is the foundation of Mercy Street’s work. Christian mentors who are recruited and vetted from local church congregations work one-on-one with our young neighbors. These long-running relationships result in mutual transformation for mentors and mentees.
Mercy Street builds leadership and entrepreneurial skills in its mentees through the Leadership Institute’s three initiatives: a 10-week summer Leadership Intensive program, year-round Street Teams, and an Alumni Association. The Leadership Institute develops these emerging leaders when they are in high school and college to ensure they thrive on their own in the “real world.”
