Hello family and friends!
What moves you?
Something that moves Kyle Mitchell and I, is our love for Haiti and running. This November we will be participating in the 2019 TCS NYC Marathon … together!
Each step we take, in training, in races and during those 26.2 miles… will be for the Les Cayes, Haiti Mercy Hospital Project, and to fight the inequalities of healthcare that the Haitian people face.
Our love for service began at Sacred Heart Academy, where we went on our first trip to Reynosa, Mexico. Since then, Kyle has become an Emergency Room Nurse, and I work at YNHH in Public Health Policy Research. Kyle and I have been to Haiti several times together; and when we saw the current hospital situation in Les Cayes (video above) we were fueled with the desire to ensure that all Haitians receive the highest quality of health care that they deserve.
BEM is a registered 501 c(3) nonprofit organization that is now working to create a brand new state of the art hospital in Pelerin, Haiti. This hospital will provide training as well as employment for the Haitian people in the years to come.
But first, we need a roof... the construction must continue for this incredible facility.
Any donation to support this mission would be so incredibly helpful.
Mesi anpil! Thank you so very much!
