Dear Staff of the Behavioral Health Adult Inpatient Unit,
The work that you do may not be easy but it is so important. Fifteen years ago, I was hospitalized for depression and spent a few days in Behavioral Health. During that time my healing journey really began. The care that I received helped renew my hope. I will never forget those days because they really changed my life. I know often you don’t see what happens to those who leave your unit – in my case I have a future full of hope. Thank you for what you do for those who struggle with mental illness. - Emily
Emily’s story isn’t unique. She is one of countless individuals whose lives have been changed forever because of the care received at Mercy Hospital’s Mental & Behavioral Health Unit. The dedicated, caring and skilled staff have made a positive impact on so many by helping individuals learn about their illness, identify and cope with triggers to their symptoms. The end result is an individualized treatment plan which provides a comprehensive focus on a sense of self, mindfulness and techniques for overcoming whatever the individual is suffering from.
