May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Please join the Mental Health Association of Nassau County in addressing the urgent mental health crisis our community and all New Yorkers face in the wake of the pandemic. Whether its teenagers suffering from depression after a year of social isolation, parents coping with the anxiety of financial instability or vulnerable individuals battling the trauma of this past year – mental illness touches each and every one of us. MHANC is a safe and welcoming home for all Long Islanders in need of mental health services and support.
More than 42% of people surveyed by the US Census Bureau in December of 2020 reported symptoms of anxiety or depression in December, an increase from just 11% the previous year. This staggering statistic is a sign of what experts are saying will be a catastrophic rise in mental illness in the coming months. MHANC is mobilizing to respond, but we need your help!
MHANC’s NY Project Hope is a program we launched in direct response to the pandemic. We are here for individuals, families, veterans, people suffering from addiction, the elderly and anyone and everyone who is struggling daily with mental illness. Together, we are prepared to rebuild our community so that everyone can live their best quality of life.
MHANC provides education, advocacy and wraparound services to help New Yorkers achieve total mental health and wellness. We meet you where you are and provide the custom supports you need to thrive.
Will you help us reach our $5,000 goal for Mental Health Awareness month? Together, we can help Nassau County heal from the pandemic.
