UPDATE: We want to thank you so much for your donations and shares! As of today, we are bringing the gofundme and campaigns to a close in order to efficiently distribute funds. #Justice4MengqiJi
With support of the family of Mengqi Ji, Missing Person Support Center is requesting help from the public to bring Mengqi Ji home. Mengqi Ji was a beautiful wife, mother, daughter, and friend. She was a bright educated engineer graduate of the University of Missouri –MU. She’d begun her career in Columbia and was well received by the community and loved by her peers. Please help bring justice for Mengqi Ji by recovering her body thus enacting successful prosecution to her murderer.
Evidence leads Columbia police to believe Mengqi Ji was murdered on or about October 9th 2019 within the city limits of Columbia, MO in her home. Her body was then transported and dumped into the Lamine River. The location of the dumpsite has been narrowed down by the suspect’s cell phone records. Three different human remain detection K9’s at different times have had a positive “hit”. The most recent positive “hit” was on March 31st, 2020.
Originally, a plan to build a cofferdam was put into place which came with a hefty price tag ($600,000+). MPSC began fundraising efforts and authorities contiued to work diligently on a plan to recover Mengqi Ji that is feasible, both logistically and financially. An alternative plan to the cofferdam has been developed to build a levy on the Lamine River to make it safe for divers to retrieve Mengqi Ji.
MPSC is pledging $10,000 to the the cost of building the levy. The remaining amount will go to Mengqi Ji's family to go towards their efforts to win custody of Mengqi Ji's 1 year old daughter.
MPSC does NOT keep any of the money raised through the Bring Mengqi Ji Home campaign. MPSC is a 501c3 organization. We can provide tax deductible receipts!
PLEASE SHARE!!! Your efforts will help put a murderer behind bars, bring a young lady up from a watery grave she did NOT deserve, and assist her family in their grief from this tragedy!!
