The Pennyroyal Arts Council & Sanctuary, Inc. present Dancing with Our Stars on Saturday, September 7, 2019. Proceeds from the event and the funds raised during the dancing festivities will support the missions of the Pennyroyal Arts Council and Sanctuary, Inc.
Each donation made to a specific team will put that team closer to taking home the top title in the Dancing With Our Stars competition. And don't worry, you'll have plenty of ways to support us and our charities during the September 7 event as well!
ABOUT MELANIE & CODY
Cody & Melanie Noffsinger have been married for almost 7 years and have two wonderful dogs, Pippin 10, and Watson 9. Even though they both grew up in the Hopkinsville area, they didn’t meet until they attended the University of Kentucky in 2006.
Melanie grew up in Trigg County but graduated from University Heights Academy in Hopkinsville. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management & Tourism from the University of Kentucky and currently works as the Event Manager at The Silo Event Center. Cody was raised in north Christian and is a graduate of Christian County High School. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and another in Finance from the University of Kentucky. He is currently the Accountant at Hopkinsville Electric System & EnergyNet, and sole proprietor of Noffsinger Accounting Services, LLC.
When Cody and Melanie moved back after graduating college, they both became very involved in the community. Melanie is a Junior Auxiliary of Hopkinsville Associate Member and was awarded Chamber Ambassador of the Year in 2015. She has also been a very active Pennyroyal Arts Council Board member since 2015 and was just appointed to the board for the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County. Cody is a board member of the Christian County Literacy Council, the Treasurer of the Hopkinsville Rotary Club executive board, and a past President and Treasurer of HYPE. He writes a monthly column titled “Behind the Chopping Block” for the Kentucky New Era. Cody has also been an active board member of the Pennyroyal Arts Council for six years, serving as a past President and Treasurer. They feel honored to be part of the unbelievable achievements that PACI has made in this short amount of time.
Melanie is no stranger to performing and dancing. She began at Angel’s School of Dance alongside Brooke Bailey, who is now her DWOS coach, when she was just 3 years old and continued dance & gymnastics until the 6th grade. She became a cheerleader in high school and even coached the middle school cheer squad. From dance recitals, gymnastics meets, cheer dances, and performing in school plays, she’s ready to hit the stage again! Cody, on the other hand, is quite the stranger to competitive dancing. His experience is limited to cutting a rug at weddings and placing second in the 2006 KY Beta Convention Group Talent competitions by performing a dance routine as one of the Village People. However, from his childhood until this day he still loves to play soccer and is hoping that some of that fancy foot work will come in handy on stage!
“I am honored to have the opportunity to perform as one of the dancers in this year’s Hopkinsville Dancing with Our Stars. If that wasn’t enough, to be able go through this journey along with my amazing wife, Melanie, is a dream come true. I hope we have some tricks up our sleeves to awe the crowd, and hopefully raise funds for two important and impactful community organizations”
-Cody Noffsinger
“Both of these amazing organizations hold a special place in my heart, and to be able to participate in such a fun fundraiser like Dancing with Our Stars that will benefit both really is an honor & blessing! There’s no one I’d rather compete with than with Cody, my lifelong dance partner!”
