Meladee and I have been matched for over 2 years, since she was 8 years old. Meladee is from Manchester, CT, but has Puerto Rican roots. She's incredibly outgoing, positive, funny, intelligent, and easy going. I'm so lucky to have her as my Little Sister. We love doing crafts, science experiments, going out to eat, skating and skiing. Her favorite places to eat are Wendy's and Taco Bell. Meladee has grown up so much since I first met her. She is so persitent, smart, and thoughtful, always kind to others and loves helping children younger than her. She has taught me so much and brought lots of fulfillment and laughs to my life. I hope that I am a good role model for her and am making a difference in her life.
About Bowl for Kids' Sake
Bowl for Kids' Sake is one of the longest standing annual traditions of Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters that brings together Bigs, Littles, and community partners for a day of bowling with purpose. This year, powered by Bigs Ignite - a team of active and alumni Big Sisters and Big Brothers - Bowl for Kids' Sake is sure to be even more memorable as Bigs from across Connectiut unite to help the mission, vision, and work of Nutmeg Big Brothers Big Sisters stretch even further.
Where does the money go?
The money raised during Bowl for Kids' Sake is used to provide one-to-one mentors, create more friendships, and ignite potential of children in our local communities.
