This is Thor. On July 5, 2018, BMHS received a call from Mill Creek area in Walla Walla, WA about a stray dog in desperate need of help. The County Animal Control Officer, Kyle, picked him up and rushed him back to the shelter for emergency care.
The little dog had no ID, and we discovered that a fox tail had entered his left eye, and infection was spreading rapidly through his eyes, nose and mouth. He could hardly breathe from his nose and seemed to be blind. Medication to treat the infection was started immediately, and we hoped an owner might report him missing. When that didn’t happen, we dubbed him Thor, and committed to create the best future possible for him.
He had surgery to remove the infected eye to speed his healing process. He was also neutered and vaccinated, preparing him to be placed up for adoption. Thor is now anxiously waiting that day!
Thor is recovering well and enjoys time outside daily, relaxing in the grass and adjusting to his change in circumstance. He loves basking in the shade, breathing in the fresh air. We need your help to care for Thor and other injured animals just like him. Gifts to Winston's Fund directly support care for injured pets. Every gift helps us bring healing and happiness to those in our care who need it most.
Thor will be available for adoption SOON. If you are interested in being a part of his future, apply to adopt him today: https://bluemountainhumane.org/adoption-applications/
