The death toll caused by coronavirus is on the rise. Already more than 1,100 people have died and 45,000 people have been affected worldwide. With the exception of a few isolated cases, almost all deaths have been in and around Wuhan, China, where the first case was detected in December.
Despite the government's best efforts, life in China is still far from recovery. Tackling the epidemic has created a severe shortage of medical equipment.
