Jimuel is a 11-month-old baby from the Philippines. He had neonatal sepsis and now has post-meningitis hydrocephalus. He developed a brain infection and has been hospitalized for over a month. He had surgery to have a trach placed to open his airways.
These past months, his family can barely provide for his needs. His father was working as a construction laborer but lost most of his income due to covid. They were living in Manila but transferred to the province to survive together during this pandemic.
Jimuel also has an older sister who sacrifices just so that they can buy milk and diapers. They gather coins just to buy basic needs.
Jimuel is finally ready to be discharged from the hospital to recover at home. Since he is so fragile, he needs to travel home in an ambulance. They also need medications and other supplies on discharge to keep him stable.
