Do you want to help make a difference in quality of wellbeing in the life of the many who are facing a diagnoses of a serious illness?
We’ve all been there at some point in our lives. We, or a family member, have been diagnosed with a serious illness that necessitates medical intervention, or have received an injury that requires surgery.
Immediately our thoughts begin to focus on the “what ifs?” Anxiety sets in and the stress of the unknown consumes us. But, what if, there was an alternate way of dealing with these health issues in a way that could help diminish the worry and relieve the stress? There is. And it’s called Reiki. Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a simple, natural and safe method of healing that works in conjunction with traditional medicine and therapeutic techniques. A treatment is done with the practitioner’s hands placed on or slightly above a client’s body. Reiki is non-invasive and has no known contraindications or negative side effects.
Clinical results have shown Reiki to be highly effective as a natural stress reduction treatment, as it calms the mind and emotions, releases tension and eases pain while supporting and accelerating the healing process. Reiki provided in the OR, has been found to stabilize a patient’s blood pressure, minimize bleeding, and limit the need for pain medications following surgery.
Medical Reiki Works is raising money to fund a medical study to scientifically verify these results so that every patient can receive this assistance during surgery, if they so choose. Leading the study will be Dr. Sheldon Marc Feldman, Chief of the division of Breast Surgery and Surgical Oncology, and the director of Breast Cancer Services at Montefiore Einstein Center for Cancer Care, the clinical arm of the NCI-designated Albert Einstein Cancer Center.
Sheldon Marc Feldman, M.D. and Raven Keyes Medical Reiki International LLC are working together to make it possible for this important medical study to be conducted in order to substantiate the many benefits of Reiki in healthcare. Reiki is already being administered with positive results in Hospitals, Cancer Centers, VA Centers, and Hospice across the United States, Canada and many other parts of the world.
With today’s ever changing landscape of the healthcare industry, healthcare professionals are looking for ways to create more positive experiences, and outcomes for patients facing serious medical procedures. Reiki is one way toward reaching this goal.
