Community. We all need it. It is that invisible net of support we all lean in to.
This spring, we all have learned that if we are to give the gift of belonging to each other, we have to tap in to new resources to do that.
For those of us who are fortunate enough to serve our fellow humans in some kind of medical capacity, we hold the responsibility of creating and sustaining this community uniquely. I for one, never imaged I would be asking my patients if they had enough toilet paper. Nor did I imagine that my patients would be reaching back to me to "see if I am ok." None of us thought we would be creating a virtual camo experience for our campers and their families. In all of this, we share resources and sustain each other.
For all of us who have been touched by North Star Reach camp, we have expereinced a medical community as it should be. We have taken care of patients as campers together as a team. We have worked out camp challenges alongside our program colleagues. We have laughed, sang, and danced as one big family.
We are joining together now to ensure that our camp will continue. The pandemic brings finanacial hurdles alongside the already present formidable task of birthing a large non-profit organization.
Lets show our campers and their familes that we are behind them. We need your help.
Thank you in advance for anything you can add to this gift and for passing the word on to anyone you know of who might also be passionate about providing joy and community for these campers and their families.
