"Like a marathon, life can sometimes be difficult, challenging and present obstacles, however if you believe in your dreams and never ever give up, things will turn out for the best." -- Meb Keflezighi
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page! In April of 2020 I’ll be participating in the super bowl of running, The Boston Marathon, as a member of Team MEB Boston.
First, I want to express my gratitude to Team MEB for selecting me for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Truly honored and I feel very fortunate to be an ambassador for a great cause.
For those not sure who Meb is, he’s arguably the most decorated US long-distance runner… in history! He’s a four-time Olympian with a silver medal in the 2004 Marathon distance, he won the New York Marathon in 2009, and the Boston Marathon in 2014 becoming the first American man to win each race since 82/83, and has made numerous podiums at World Marathon Majors throughout his career. He also won 4 NCAA Championships while at UCLA. Most importantly, with all this success Meb understands the opportunity provided to him through running and uses his platform to benefit others through the recently launched MEB Foundation. He’s an inspiring marathon champion, family man, and community leader.
Every time I put a big event on the calendar it's important for me to have a bigger "why" than checking off an incredible experience from my bucket list. The MEB Foundation is that ‘why’ as their work and mission focus in areas that I am strongly passionate about supporting: youth health, wellness, fitness, education and opportunity.
As a ‘newish’ father I’m constantly thinking about what kind of example I’m setting for my little guy, Jack, and it’s important for me to show him the priority we should place on our own health, wellness and nutrition. Taking it one step further and beyond our own family, it’s an honor and privilege to help the MEB Foundation make an exponentially larger impact than I would ever be able to make on my own.
The MEB Foundation works to fulfill its mission as a collaborator and leader in the areas of youth health, education and fitness. The MEB Foundation collaborates with and supports programs and events that:
1. Empower youth and their families to “Maintain Excellent Balance”
2. Provide the tools and resources to lead healthy lifestyles.
3. Engage children in academics, in and out of school hours.
4. Provide opportunities for children to play and learn positive life skills through involvement in sports.
5. Engage entire communities in promoting youth health, education and fitness.
If this resonates with you I’d be honored to have your support as a part of Team MEB Boston. Thanks for considering and/or sharing with friends/family!
