From Baby to Boston 👶🏻💙💛
"Like a marathon, life can sometimes be difficult, challenging and present obstacles, however if you believe in your dreams and never ever give up, things will turn out for the best." -- Meb Keflezighi
On October 22, 2019 after almost 26 hours of labor (which felt much harder than a marathon!) I gave birth to my son Declan Chance. While in labor, unbeknownst to me, I had received an email inviting me to be part of the MEB TEAM for the 2020 Boston Marathon.
First, I want to express my gratitude to Team MEB for selecting me for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Truly honored and I feel very fortunate to be an ambassador for a great cause.
For those not sure who Meb is, he’s arguably the most decorated US long-distance runner… in history! He’s a four-time Olympian with a silver medal in the 2004 Marathon distance, he won the New York Marathon in 2009, and the Boston Marathon in 2014 becoming the first American man to win each race since 82/83, and has made numerous podiums at World Marathon Majors throughout his career. Most importantly, with all this success Meb understands the opportunity provided to him through running and uses his platform to benefit others through the recently launched MEB Foundation. He’s an inspiring marathon champion, family man, and community.
This upcoming April 20, 2020- 6 months postpartum- I will be running the ICONIC Boston Marathon as an ambassador for Team Meb. I am honored and humbled for this opportunity. And can not wait to cross the finish line and have my son waiting for me.
