Here we are in the middle of a pandemic, many of us unable to do anything except stay home. Then there are those risking their lives daily to save others, find a vaccine, deliver food, or work because they are required to. The Heroes
Here I am left with wanting to do something and also wanting to do something I've never done before, If I don't like it or the way I look who do I have to see or impress?! Well not for another 30 days. Time to go for it!
When I think of my 94 year old Grandmother who beat Hodgkin's Lymphoma Stage 4, had catarac surgery, a hip replacement and managed to every year host 3 children & their spouses, 9 grandchildren, and often great grandchildren for Christmas. She's a WARRIOR! Thinking of her in this situation, along with my Uncle and his Girlfriend who all need to stay healthy and wondering how I can help. "Meals On Wheels America has been guided by a single goal since the first known U.S. delivery by a small group of Philadelphia citizens in 1954 – to support our senior neighbors to extend their independence and health as they age. What started as a compassionate idea has grown into one of the largest and most effective social movements in America, currently helping nearly 2.4 million seniors annually in virtually every community in the country."-(mealsonwheelsamerica.org)
I am setting a goal of $10K to be raised by midnight on April 11th and should I meet my goal I will shave my head on Instagram LIVE at midnight. All proceeds will go directly to Meals on Wheels and give me peace knowing that women like my grandmother who have laid the foundation for all of us, the warriors, the ones willing to speak their minds and always fight for what they believe in. So I ask you all to share my story, donate if you can, even $5 helps and stay strong-stay hopefull-and STAY HOME!! This is for Grandma Lois!
