Meals Ministry Mission
The mission of Fourth Church’s Meals Ministry is to provide nutritious meals and welcoming hospitality for neighbors who are hungry, nurturing a sense of community among guests, volunteers, and partner organizations as we live out Fourth Church’s mission to be a light in the city.
In this season of gratitude and giving, we invite you to join the Meals Ministry of the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago in sharing Christmas joy with those in need by contributing toward gift bags we’ll be distributing to our guests.
In years past, we have distributed empty gift bags to congregation members and asked that those bags be returned decorated and filled with specified items. Unfortunately, this approach is not feasible this year under the restrictions of the pandemic. We still need your help, however, as we do not want our Sunday and Monday Night Supper guests to go unremembered this Christmas.
As such, Christmas Gift Bags will be prepared for our guests by the Meals Ministry staff and volunteers, and our Sunday school children and youth will be decorating cards for inclusion in the bags. To fill those bags this year, we are asking you to make a donation covering the cost of the items included in one or more gift bags.
If you prefer to make your contribution by mail
- make the check payable to Fourth Presbyterian Church
- write “Meals Ministry Gift Bags” in the memo line
- mail the check to Fourth Presbyterian Church, Attn: Development, 126 E. Chestnut St., Chicago, IL 60611.2014
We thank you in advance for your generosity and support in assuring that those with little will have a gift for Christmas.
