The Ask: Please make a donation to say thank you to the first responders and support staff at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix, while supporting local restaurants along the McDowell Miracle Mile.
Donated funds will be used to purchase meals from local restaurants along the Miracle Mile to feed front line workers and staff at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix. Your donation supports both healthcare workers and local restaurants that have been hit hard during the pandemic and are in need of extra support to keep operating. Meals from the Mile will make sure donated funds go directly to participating restaurants – all while feeding the valued workers on the front lines of the fight against Covid-19.
Why: Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix is a part of the McDowell Miracle Mile and its doctors, nurses and staff are heroically fighting the pandemic and keeping our community safe and healthy. Our goal is to offer gratitude to those hard-working health care professionals at the hospital, while supporting the locally-owned restaurants and coffee shops along McDowell Road that make the Miracle Mile such a special place.
The average cost of a meal is $10. Please consider donating one or more meals. Every donation counts and is appreciated! All funds received will go directly to providing a local meal from the Mile to our heroes. Any donation will be accepted!

Who we are: The McDowell Miracle Mile is a commercial corridor anchored on the west by the Banner – University Medical Center campus and extends east to SR 51. Originally built in the 1930s, the corridor was historically a bustling shopping district aptly dubbed the “Miracle Mile.” This area has seen many changes over the years and it is now home to a multitude of locally-owned businesses, ranging from worldwide cuisine to non-profit organizations.
The McDowell Road Revitalization Committee (a committee of the Phoenix Community Alliance), has been meeting since 2016 to lead revitalization efforts along the Miracle Mile District, a vital commercial corridor. By collaborating with the City of Phoenix departments, local neighborhood associations and businesses along the corridor, the members of the Committee who meet monthly work to make a connected and vibrant corridor for all. “Help get the word out and share this link to your Facebook timeline!
