The impact of the recent humanitarian crisis is being felt across the country and communities big and small, in ways we could have never imagined. Beyond the global health crisis, the recent catastrophes are having severe impacts on individuals, small businesses, community organizations and heathcare organizations.
The idea at Meal Forward is simple: Feed people in the community who are significantly impacted by the recent crisis, while supporting local restaurants that are really hurting at this time
We’ve been receiving a lot of requests for help from multiple sources as there are people in our community suffering due to the limited access to foods. We are proud to say that as of 8/25, we have raised $71K+ through donations and delivered 3610+ meals to people in the bay area. Keeping this great momentum, we are looking to scale up the effort in order to help more people and local businesses in more sustainable ways.
Here’s how it works;
1. You donate. (Subject to tax exemption)
2. 100% of the fund received will be passed to the local restaurants.
3. The restaurants will prepare and deliver meals to people in need.
Organizations we've helped so far:
Hospitals - Kaiser Permanente Medical Center (Santa Clara, Oakland, Cupertino, San Jose), Regional Medical Center, Washington Hospital, Palo Alto Health Care System, Sutter Health, Canyon Springs Post Acute Care, and San Francisco Campus for Jewish Living.
Community organizations - Asian Health Services, Ecumenical Hunger Program, KACF, Skyline Health center, and While Blossom Care Center.
We’ve also partnered with 10+ local restaurants and are looking to expand further. As we grow, we hope to be able to provide the meal support in more sustainable ways and eventually help the community recover from this pandemic as quickly and healthy as possible.
Join us, your kind action may change somebody’s life in this dire situation!
