I have been a pediatric nurse practitioner at Boston Children's Hospital for 12 years, and have been working in the neuromuscular clinic for the past 8 years. I am honored to work with such a dedicated team of providers. The MDA come to our clinic to support the patients and their families. The MDA supports individuals with various neuromuscular conditions, such as spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), muscular dystrophy, Charcot Marie Tooth disease, ALS, myasthenia gravis to name a few. The MDA supports research that is CHANGING LIVES. We now have treatments for conditions where there were no treatments before. Also, the MDA camp is a week long camp held every summer for children with neuromuscular conditions. This gives them the opportunity to do things they would not otherwise be able to do. My patients talk about this camp all year!
These are only a few examples of what the MDA offers to patients and families. It's a cause I feel very strongly about, and I'm proud to be running the Boston Marathon for the MDA Team Momentum!
