I am very honored to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association through participation in the 2020 Boston Marathon as part of Team Momentum.
On a daily basis through our research at Wave Life Sciences, I see the struggle and heartache faced by patients and families impacted by Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD).
DMD, which is a progressive and ultimately fatal genetic disorder, and other forms of muscular dystrophy have no known cure and very limited treatment options.
It is both a personal and professional goal of mine, as well as my colleagues at Wave, to bring treatments to these patients.
Completing the Boston Marathon is also a once-in-a-lifetime personal challenge. I have never run a marathon, but being able to support MDA in this way, along with the encouragement of friends, family and colleagues, will provide all the motivation I need to get through the cold winter training.
We appreciate every donation that can be made to MDA, an organization that provides support, awareness and advocacy for patients and families affected by these devastating diseases.
Please consider making a donation to my fundraising page. You can follow the link provided below and select “donate.” Donations go directly to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The 2019 edition of #MDAteam at the Boston Marathon raised over $114,000 and participants with entry through the MDA and the John Hancock program raised an average of $13,000 per person.
All who are selected to join Team Momentum for the 2020 Boston Marathon will be required to reach the following fundraising minimum due dates:
12/31/19- $2,500 2/17/20- $5,000 4/6/20- $10,000
