Daniel Gill and Jacob Gearhart are an Uncle-Nephew Team running in the 2019 Marine Corps Marathon on October 27 in Arlington, VA. The family duo coined “ Team Cancer Crushers” is running with the MCM Charity Partner The National Foundation for Cancer Research’s Play4theCure Team. They’ll be running to spread awareness of Esophageal Cancer and to help raise funds to support cancer research.
They are running in memory of Daniel’s father and Jacob’s grandfather (Pappy) John C. Gill who battled Stage IV Esophageal Cancer for over 10 years, passing away in 2017. They are also running in honor of Daniel’s father-in-law Thomas A. Broschart who is also currently battling Stage IV Esophageal Cancer. The team hopes to raise $5,000. 100% of the funds raised will support cancer research through The National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR)
Play4theCure is the national sports fundraising platform for NFCR.
