Our sweet McKinley was born with CMV that caused bilateral hearing loss, and PMG of the brain.
Congenital Cytomegalovirus, or CMV, is the most common viral infection, and the leading non-genetic cause of hearing loss, that infants are born with in the United States. Every pregnant woman is at risk of acquiring CMV. And only 9% of women know about it.
On Monday, September 21, 2020 , we're teeing off to increase congenital CMV awareness and ultimately #STOPCMV.
The National CMV Foundation is dedicated to promoting awareness, providing access to resources, and sharing prevention information to eliminate congenital CMV.
Together, we can #stopcmv.
